The Government of Hong Kong joins the list of those using #COVID19 as a pretext to undermine democracy. Shame on them. The 13 activists need to be liberated immediately !

Arrests of pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong are deeply concerning – politicized law enforcement is inconsistent with universal values of freedom of expression, association, and peaceful assembly.
The United States should be standing up for freedom and standing with the people of Hong Kong. Instead, Trump has said he's “standing with Xi Jinping.” That's weak. We need to be strong on values when it comes to China. That's what I'll do as president.
HK police officers have been subjected to emotional stress, they are emotionally out of control, I highly doubt whether HK popo can carry out their duties and use weapons properly.

1/ Conflicts re-kindled during weekend as hundreds of thousands took to streets in HK Island protesting unfair election screening and demanding free-election. By 8PM arrest no. went up to 200+ with police brutality.
I'm Feeling sick of Hong Kong's police. Why Beijing's puppet Carrie Lam still there? Shouldn't she be ashamed of herself after what she did to Hong Kong? Look at HK's unrest and recession lam.

“The ugly scenes of police using tear gas and pepper spray against overwhelmingly peaceful protesters is a violation of international law. Police may use force only when strictly necessary. Hong Kong’s police have today failed to live up to this standard,Amnesty International. "
@willripleyCNN I feel really sorry for that. HK's police weren't like that before. Now BEIJING's police attack people indiscriminately in the street of HK.

@FinancialTimes Joshua is only the latest political screening in Hong Kong. Previous elections, the 2016 Legislative Council election and subsequent by-elections, were tainted by the disqualifications of multiple candidates and lawmakers on the basis that their political views were unacceptable.
@SenMarkey Why Beijing is so afraid the pro-democracy activist Joshua to be qualified in the district council elections. There's something wrong with HK's election.

@dwnews Actually, HK police use very dangerous and harmful chemical weapons. For example, the chemical contains in water cannon would cause hard-to-heal wounds.

I become the only candidate banned from running in November’s District Council Election as Returning officer, Laura ARON ruled my nomination invalid this morning. It proved how Beijing manipulate the election with political cersorship and screening.
