Former Chinese securities regulator vice chairman Wang Jianjun sentenced to life in prison for bribery

A court in Weifang, Shandong Province, sentenced Wang Jianjun, former vice chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, to life imprisonment on Sept. 7 for accepting more than 93.4 million yuan in bribes.

The court found that Wang used his positions between 2005 and 2019 to help companies and individuals with IPOs, corporate financing and business contracts in exchange for money and valuables.

He was also deprived of political rights for life and had all his personal property confiscated.

China has officially launched the Cislunar CubeSat Constellation (C3) Program to construct a satellite constellation in the cislunar space spanning from low Earth orbits to about 2 million km from Earth, filling gaps in systematic observation of the region.
The program, open to scientists and institutions worldwide, will launch 30 CubeSats, each weighing no more than 30 kg, before 2030 to form the constellation for space environment monitoring and gamma-ray burst detection.
Once completed, the program will transform cislunar exploration from intermittent, point-based observations to networked and continuous monitoring, providing core data support for crewed lunar landing life safety and frontier scientific research on the cislunar space environment.
