@anyadotnet@grace_hawthorn@VoxPrudentia You don’t get it, that we are not Americans. We won’t need to constantly eat.
If we want to BBQ, we can do that at home.
It’s also called having manners. Not everyone wants to be smelling and stinking of grilled food whilst trying to relax in a pub.
@LostVagabon@grace_hawthorn The whole point of a pub is to socialise.
Some of us are able to eat at home before going out.
If we want to eat then we will go to a food pub, but that is less about socialising.
@heavenly_otter@tammiemull@grace_hawthorn@VoxPrudentia One of my favourite locals that does not serve food, was built in the 1800’s.
We go there for the live music, Karokee, discos or just to sit in the beer garden on a nice day.
Same with social clubs.
I’d hate all pubs to turn into food pubs.
@anyadotnet@grace_hawthorn@VoxPrudentia You don’t understand that a lot of our pubs were built 100’s of years ago.
We have history in our buildings. They are unique.
@BeckY63579062@jNelajus I remember them back in the late 90’s.
Mainly cheese and Onion, Ham and Cheese and if really unlucky, egg.
Though I’d call it a “barm”, but that’s a whole different debate 😉
@jNelajus@MattWalls99 Raw cheese? You know it’s no longer in its raw form?
You also realise that a lot of cheeses are a better taste and texture, when not being melted?
@Zygocacti@iainrae68@TheJeffPutnam It’s not the kind of cheese you melt.
We also have cheese toasties, we would use a totally different kind of cheese.
