i think what a lot of the insufferable euroean takes on americans comes down to is that in us they see a mirror image with an ugly reflection and they'll say anything to convince themselves it's not true.
@MitskiFatos i have zero shame about enjoying treats but this would get me too, what are you going to do while i eat this? just stand around and watch me? it will make me feel rushed and i won't even get to trade bites.
@denimneverdies i hate the way people on the internet talk about birth control, and it's mirror image, the way they talk about hormone fluctuations through their cycle. it's not for everyone, but it can free you from pmdd, and for me that's miraculous regardless of sexual activity.
@soldierpaypig i remember seeing a video about the "white people food" trend a couple years ago, they would eat a cold lunch and be like, "this food is so soulless, perfect for eating at your desk and creating shareholder value." i think about it every time i have a sad lunch now.
@MoundLore my grandma was born in georgia in 1919 and also maintained the supper/dinner distinction but she worked all her life and never cooked so i never actually saw it in action.
i live in a walkable neighborhood with a grocery store two blocks away but i hate going to the grocery store more than anything so i just get it delivered. it's so easy and buying produce once a week means you get what you get either way tbh.
Question to the βwalkable cityβ advocates who hate cars:
If you go to the grocery store and have eight bags (or even four bags) of groceries, how do you get them home? You push around a little cart or something? Sounds bad.
@relicofvannjane i'm hypermobile and have a lot of joint pain, i only just learned recently that i'm not supposed to be doing deep, static stretches. cutting them out actually did help too π
american identity is so cohesive that it envelopes the entire continent well outside of our borders, but diversity is one of the most important parts of that identity.
