@HeardInTheHOB How about the over under on amount of those 1am social media posts from legislators about how hard they are working. Extra points if they mention they are working hard on a holiday.
Supporting our kids isn’t up for debate. House Republicans are playing politics—cutting school meal funding and setting kids up to fail. We’re ready to make a smart deal for Michigan kids, and are waiting at the table whenever House Republicans are ready to get serious.
I giggled at the email from the office of @dananessel that they are investigating Twin Flames. Love is officially dead. Or at least can’t be bought for the low cost of $4,444
The recently released Michigan House budget proposal eliminates dedicated funding for school meals and includes the following:
❌ Eliminates $200 million in dedicated state funding for free school meals for all students
❌Creates a $3.08 billion “flex fund” instead of continuing specific support for things like meals, mental health, and at-risk student programs.
❌Increases the risk of lunch debt, stigma, and food insecurity for students who may now lose access to no-cost meals.

Nothing is as depressing as realizing you’ll likely be trapped in Lansing for 3 days during a heat wave and a budget standoff on education funding. #mipol
The July 1st deadline for the Legislature to send a finalized budget to Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s desk is approaching and the House and the Senate don’t appear to be close. https://t.co/9mSnvDXagR
@darrincamilleri , Senate Approps PreK-12 Subcommittee Chair, updated reporters during Senate recess on education budget.
Discussed how far apart both chambers are on budget.
Also was frustrated on rate of progress.
"Speaker Hall is the problem." he said. #mileg#mipol
Are we doing feats now in committee hearings? If agriculture gets Ted Nugent can we get @eminem for free school meals? Feeding kids is way cooler than DNR accountability anyhow.
What a day in Lansing!! ❤️ Our 2025 advocacy day is complete with our volunteers holding 30+ meetings with state legislators. Thank you for helping advance our mission!
Today is National Wear Red Day, which honors American Heart Health Month and raises awareness about women's heart health. This month, take control of your heart health by learning more about your family's health history and educating yourself about risk factors.
