Today at IFFCO Sadan, I had the privilege of meeting with Mr. Jeong Sung Hun, GM, NH Capital and Mr. SANGMO KWAK, Manager, NHFG along with their team from NongHyup Financial Group, Republic of South Korea. Mr. Manish Gupta, Director, Strategy & Joint Ventures, IFFCO were also present during the meeting. We explored meaningful partnership opportunities that can create greater value for farmers and further strengthen the cooperative ecosystem in India. At IFFCO, every collaboration is guided by a clear purpose of supporting our farmers, empowering cooperatives, and contributing to their long-term growth and prosperity.

We will continue to pursue thoughtful collaborations that open new doors, deliver better solutions, and bring tangible benefits to the farming community. Grateful for a productive discussion rooted in a shared vision of creating lasting value for those who form the backbone of our agricultural landscape.

Today, I had the honour and privilege of calling on Shri Amit Shah Ji @AmitShah, Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Cooperation, at his residence office in New Delhi. The meeting was warm, inspiring, and deeply meaningful for the cooperative movement. I was pleased to brief the Hon’ble Minister on IFFCO’s overall performance, including the manufacturing and sales progress of conventional and speciality fertilisers, with a special focus on Nano fertilisers. I also shared the encouraging growth in exports of Nano Urea, reflecting its increasing global acceptance and trust in Indian cooperative innovation.

It was a moment of immense pride to apprise him that through IFFCO’s joint venture, IFFCO Nanoventions with a Brazilian partner, a Nano fertiliser manufacturing plant in Brazil will become operational by June 2026. This milestone stands as a powerful testament to the vision of Sahakar Se Samriddhi and the Hon’ble Minister’s dynamic and visionary leadership, taking Indian cooperatives to the global stage.

Hon’ble Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji shared valuable thoughts on further strengthening IFFCO’s leadership role as a cooperative institution, rooted in committed partnerships with farmers, to accelerate agriculture led development for the nation. I also updated him on IFFCO’s ongoing efforts towards education, awareness, and empowerment of farmers for the effective adoption of Nano fertilisers.
We had a constructive and forward-looking discussion on strategies to strengthen cooperatives by leveraging IFFCO’s vast, robust, and trusted cooperative network. These efforts will play a significant role in strengthening the rural economy and empowering cooperatives as engines of inclusive growth.

I express my sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Minister for his guidance, encouragement, and for graciously sparing time from his busy schedule for this insightful interaction. IFFCO remains committed to playing a leadership role in realising the shared dream of prosperous farmers and strong cooperatives.

My recent interaction with very senior journalist & expert of covering fertiliser sector Mr. Prabhudatta @1Prabhudatta from The Hindu Business Line @businessline focused on the road ahead for IFFCO; today the world’s largest processed fertiliser cooperative. I underscored a crucial priority for our nation: securing long-term access to essential raw materials. Without reliable and affordable raw-material sources, India cannot ensure low-cost fertilisers for our farmers, and our agricultural backbone becomes vulnerable.

As a cooperative built for farmers, we are committed to aggressive backward integration to stabilise costs and strengthen our national supply chain. This is not merely a business strategy; it is a national imperative. Raw material security determines the affordability of fertilisers, the resilience of our food systems, and ultimately the prosperity of millions of Indian farmers.

I also highlighted the transformative potential of Nano Fertilisers and our forward-looking plans to scale this innovation. Nano technologies are not just the future of sustainable agriculture; indeed they are a breakthrough that can reduce input costs, enhance productivity, and significantly lessen our dependency on imported materials.

IFFCO remains fully dedicated to building a secure, self-reliant, and technologically advanced fertiliser ecosystem for India’s farmers and for the nation’s long-term food security.

I am happy to share that a patent has been granted to IFFCO for an invention entitled NANO UREA FERTILISER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF for the term of 20 years from the 12" day of January 2023 in accordance with the provisions of the Patents Act, 1970. This innovation would help farmers on effective nitrogen nutrition to crops and guiding them towards profitable and sustainable farming. My heartfelt congratulations to each and every member and team IFFCO for this great achievement.
