I'm amazed that there are no @SouthernRailUK trains from Sydenham today while the @TfL Jubilee line is also shut from Canada Water. Awful planning from both of you
@CJCHowarth@El_Vim_Fuego@NicholasTyrone The NAFTA deal has a panel (USMCA) with people from each country to settle disputes. That's, in principle, no different from the ECJ. The US only have free trade deals with 20 countries. They're also VERY protectionist when they want to be
@philjvtaylor@NicholasTyrone Ah because key Brexiteers haven't said it, it can't be true. It's clear some won't be happy until we're Puerto Rico. How much sucking up to Washington will make you question it? Because to me, it feels like the kid in school who desperately wants to be with the 'popular' kid
This a clearly a lie, but also the hidden consequence and often motive of 'simplification'
Smartcards like Oyster for eg charges peak fares in the evening. Meanwhile, an off peak paper ticket is valid at said time. If we're not careful, we'll end up with dearer PAYG & Dynamic
More from the transport committee: DfT reckons passengers have welcomed LNER’s fares simplification that has ditched cheaper off-peak tickets in favour less flexible, and often more expensive, advance fares.
Tbh, I've long said GTR are not clear with First Class
Southern suburban services are declassified, yet in almost 20 years, I've only heard this be announced once. No one has a clue this is even a thing, yet the PA will tell you the destination 3 times btwn EVERY call
@NewFifeRight14@PaffyPete@SteveSmith_cam 25% of the fare is staff costs - drivers, stations, maintenance, signallers, office. Fragmentation has rocketed costs, not salaries. The privitsated system uses taxpayer money to fund shareholders. 'Excessive pay', let me guess, all rail staff is on 70k+ in your world 🙄😂
@OnlyImmutable @DaveTCM17 @leeharris@Keir_Starmer Not even just that, the 'shackled to the EU' lot screwed over farmers, increasing their red tape, limiting their biggest market and now need to compete with Australian farms as big as entire English counties, while the right are obessed with needing America. But 'sovereignty' 🙄
@MrMappy I really dislike the bizzare 'Grand Central' trend. Birmingham and Belfast; Grand Central is just associated with New York, and rightly so. Cities need their own identities.
