@SandraRodkey The envy gene is quite strong in someone like you. $1 trillion distributed among 340 million Americas equals $2941. Do you think that will cure poverty?
I am more concerned about whether this world is capable of producing the kind of wealth necessary to give people opportunity.
@EshaAA33 No, I am not outraged. Elon has produced profitable companies creating wealth. We should be concerned if this country is unable to produce wealth.
@RepSaraJacobs Fine... but we all know the Federal government wastes more money than any other organization in human history.
So what are you going to do with all the money from these taxes?
@simonateba@elonmusk Leave it alone friend. I am not a trillionaire, nor do I want to be. But my compassion for others is not expressed in condemning the productive. And frankly, if that is all you can offer, you're not helping much.
Liquidating all of Musk's assets will not cure poverty.
@CaptMarkKelly 2001: A Space Odyssey is the greatest motion picture of all time. The movie ends with humanity's next step in evolution -- the very level of evolution required to understand the movie.
You are getting there Senator.
@SenWarren or 11 million people would need to work 4 years or 110 million people would need to work 5 months. Every worker in the US 3 months to equal Musk.
I think you should worry about what the Federal gov't is taxing these people.
@SenWarren We need you out of Congress. Here is what you are not reporting. Musk employs 160k workers. The number of contracting companies that work with Musk's companies exceeds 10,000.
I don't care what Elon Musk has, I care whether there is economic opportunity for the rest of us.
@XavierBecerra I can't stand Trump either. But I'm not voting for him. I voting to end the fraud, waste, and malaise created by Democrats for Democrats.
CA will become exactly what the socialists and leftists preach against: a society with the very wealthy and the very poor.
@KoriWillWorry@NoContextHumans However, if the owner held on to the cow and sold it later for $1300, the total profit would have been $500. Selling the asset and then re-purchasing it caused a loss of $100 against the $500 profit.
@PopularLiberal In an altered reality, the California democratically-controlled legislature, always looking for new revenue-streams, is proposing a new tax on air consumption: both intake and outtake.
Republicans are advised to watch what they eat.
@Scott_Wiener No thanks. The T was a boondoggle. Small stations that accommodate two-car trains carrying no more than 2 Line 30 busses. We paid how much for this folly.
And Democrats want to spend more on these types of projects. Vote them out.
@turbs888@ChadBianco Careful Chad, you could become California's version of Ev Mecham, a perennial candidate for governor in Arizona who eventually won with a plurality, but not a majority.
He was impeached, convicted and removed from office. (Although he was acquitted on state charges.)
