Trump: "In California, millions of gallons of waters are waiting to be poured down through already the half pipes that are already built. I mean, they've been up for 40 years and about 20 years ago they turned off the water. And it's the water that comes from the Pacific Northwest."
Ring camera footage of the Eaton Fire as it ravaged entire neighborhoods. This gives you a good view of how easily and rapidly the fire spread. Embers travel far out from the main fire, causing exponential spread.

This video is a perfect example of what’s happening in Altadena. National guard & cops with guns out on one side of street - while community organizes mutual aid & resources next to a burnt down house across the way
The state isn’t doing anything here other than a show of force
LA County has launched a site where people can look up addresses in the Eaton & Palisades evacuation zones to see if they've been damaged, destroyed or are untouched by the fires.
Red = destroyed; Black = untouched; Yellow Green & Orange = damaged. In some areas, it's all red.
“I don’t want to sell this. To who? No one should own this. The fact that I have to do this with my team is not OK. Part of this is out of spite", @johnclarkemills says. “So, no, it’s not for sale. No, I’m not open to change all of a sudden, and I just don’t give a shit.”
The National Weather Service has issued “Particularly Dangerous Situation” warnings four times in the last three months.
The first preceded the Mountain Fire (Ventura) - 243 structures destroyed.
The second preceded the Franklin Fire (Malibu) - 20 structures destroyed.
The third preceded the Palisades and Eaton Fires - Thousands of homes, gone as we continue to battle blazes.
The fourth, starts tomorrow.
Altadena, we hear your concerns about wanting to re-enter.
At the moment, the only area where an evacuation order has been downgraded to an evacuation warning, is within the unincorporated county area of the Altadena community which is:
-South of New York Drive and East of North Hill Avenue to Altadena Drive.
Other areas under mandatory evacuation zones are still unsafe to enter, whether it be due to downed power lines, unsafe gas lines, or structures with unstable foundations. ⚠️
Disaster and utility workers are diligently working to safely re-open evacuation zones as soon as possible. 🚧
Law enforcement will continue to maintain a strong presence in both the evacuated and repopulated areas to ensure the safety of residents and their property. 🏠
Please visit https://t.co/OSqyfTVPXY to check the current evacuation status of your residence.💻
Remember to dial 911 for any emergency. 📞

Heads up! Strong, locally damaging, NE/E winds will affect West LA Co. & much of Ventura Co thru Wednesday. Critical fire weather is expected, so PLEASE have multiple ways of getting notifications in case of new fires & prepare ahead of time. #venturacounty#LA#Cawx#Socal
Short story.
Days after the 2023 Lahaina fires I flew to Hawaii to provide pro bono legal aid to fire victims navigating everything from home insurance & biz contracts, recovering legal docs, immigration status, & more. I supported ~50 families, and there was 1 constant theme with each client.
Private equity vultures were contacting and offering them pennies on the dollar for their destroyed properties. Just absolute vultures exploiting people's desperation and depression. I suspect the same will happen in SoCal, & sadly many will capitulate. It's criminal—or at least it should be.
My takeaway: We need better protections for people suffering these disasters. People have lost everything & are not in a state of balance & security. Vultures exploit that fear to make a quick buck. Too few protections exist right now, if any at all. That must change—b/c this isn't sustainable.
