my woke opinion is that the “bimbo gold digger” depiction of slavic women is rooted in sex trafficing and a classist western perception of eastern europe and poverty
@erisprimes@vernbose@colleen_daves Oh, but it does! If you start vaguely listing research as an argument against hormonal contraception, it’s nothing but bad faith. And - from how you talk about “causing cancer” - you don’t even understand what carcinogenicity is and how it works
@ellekarmawrites@_nomadic_soul Yup, vaccination is another thing - it’s an extremely effective vaccine, yet it’s not obligatory and not universally available (or not for adults, as in my country)
@Bean555442@vernbose@colleen_daves Plenty of medicine can be bad for certain individuals - for many reasons. Does it mean they are generally bad? Do you know what a general statement is?
@erisprimes@vernbose@colleen_daves It’s a type 1 carcinogen - as is alcohol, processed meat and some medicine. It doesn’t mean it will cause cancer if you take it, it means there is evidenced in general population. It also lowers the risk of other types of cancer (like ovarian). Learn to read research
@kaylienki@princebear25@shOoObz Are they even aware than mammogram is not standard screening tool unless you’re 40/at a higher risk of cancer? Younger people usually get breast ultrasounds
