This little superhero? That’s MJ—my son, my inspiration, and clearly someone who never hesitated to take a leap.
Tomorrow, I’m rappelling 22 stories in his honor for Rappel Boston 2025—and thanks to your donations, I won’t be doing it alone. 💜

@kurteichenwald - I heard you speak at the EFNE event last night. Thank you for your passion and everything else you do to bring epilepsy out of the shadows!!!
A student just shared this with me and told me "I saw this and I understood it thanks to what we learned in class : )" Very proud and glad to have some great material for the next time I teach it - wishing I could properly acknowledge original author #LUmathmethods
@MichaelisMath If one costs $10, then retail price for 4 is $40. When you get 4 for $10, then my math tells me it is a 75% discount at best (because of equal or lesser value clause). Amount of Reduction/Original Price is 30/40 = 75% Am I missing something? #LUmathmethods, @normabgordon
@AllRealMath @normabgordon I made my first major assessment take home with a mirrored review beforehand because of this phenomenon. In the post assessment survey, received 100% confirmation from students that it was fair. Considering in class group testing as a next step. #LUmathmethods#iteachmath
@MrWagsMath Thanks for sharing the technique and this specific problem - going to borrow it and share with my cohort of educators #LUMathMethods at Lesley.
Used the Land the Plane Demos activity on Linear equations as a way to remind students of all the background knowledge they had. The reviews were exceedingly positive and engagement was really high - thanks @Desmos for a fabulous tool #LUMathMethods#iteachmath
@dgstonge Please pass my appreciation to Abby for jumping in. As the dialog suggests, it is interesting to find math problems where more than one reasonable answer exists.
Curious - how would you interpret the result of this inequality: 10 < x < 5
A: The union of real numbers that are greater than 10 and less than 5
B: The intersection of real numbers that are greater than 10 and less than 5 which results in the NULL set #iteachmath#LUmathmethods
@MsPruittTeaches Thanks for sharing - keep your bar where it is. I'm trying to make the distinction between two different bars - mathematical competency and responsible behavior. I'll move the skill bar faster and farther - but I don't lower the behavior bar much at all.

@MrsMankaMath Learning mathematics is not just about getting the right answer, it is about "communicating" or "mathematical discourse". As a result, showing your work is the means of facilitating this dialog.
@pgliljedahl - I gave the Two Bike Problem to one of my students today (care of my professor @normabgordon). I created a brute force method of solving/calculating with a spreadsheet, are there other more elegant approaches out there? @lumathmethods #iteachmath#hsmathchat
I'm teaching limits and would appreciate any ideas for how to explain the concepts of "infinitesimally small" and/or "approaching but not equal to" #hsmathchat#iteachmath
