I never watched the Oscar’s award show and did not realize that most/all of the winners were white!! There are definitely some big name black actors who deserve an Oscar! Hopefully they diversify like they said they would!! #SOCL214

@GenyuanL And we can also take into account things like sexual orientation or mental health! In sam’s club a lady tried to talk badly about her employee TO ME because he was mentally disabled. I was so shocked and disgusted #SOCL214

It is so hard or have so many identities that are different that the “norm”. I always try to be nice to everyone I come across no matter how different they are to me. It’s so important to realize the privilege you have. Never take anything for granted!!! #SOCL214

Ik that SATs and ACTs were inefficient when trying to determine academic success so I’m not even surprised that they’re racist as well. I had tutoring sessions for the ACT only to get a 23 every time. I can’t imagine the frustration and worry other students felt who didn’t have-

@angelgrvce I completely agree. There’s a lot of hate towards middle easterners and people have a hard time seeing them as American. It’s a big slap in the face to not be included in a census of YOUR country smh. #SOCL214

During “where does race come from” I learned that people did not always differentiate themselves from others based on appearances! Europeans invented race in order to feel superior which makes sense knowing that they were set on taking over as much land as they could! #SOCL214.
