Children and teenagers are the most vulnerable. They often endure unspeakable suffering, violence, torture, exploitation, and traumatic conditions. It is not uncommon for them to lose their lives along migration routes. I appeal to everyone’s sense of responsibility: may we all feel a sense of involvement in the lives of these young people, who must always be protected and supported.

This is very concerning news. Amina Seck is an incredible athlete who came to the states from Senegal to play the game she loves and get a higher education.

I had the chance to call a game of hers last season. She was Kentucky State’s lead scorer last season. Her coach and team thinks the world of her. She’s a great kid and does not deserve this.

I’m asking all HBCU alums, any women’s basketball personnel/fans, & anyone with a platform to please share this story and bring Amina home safely. She needs medical attention and surgery ASAP.

No human should ever have to go through this!
