Decrypting and translating Ottoman archive documents.
This document is a letter from the archives of the Ministry of Defence about seizing Armenian newspapers such as Hairenik @ArmenianWeekly and Asbarez @Asbarez arriving from the USA.
Cipher Form: 4426 / 106 Date / Origin: Sivas – 7 / 4 / 36 (7 April 1336 / 7 April 1920)
Urgency Level: Extremely urgent (Very prompt)
Among the Istanbul newspapers that arrived in Sivas this time, there are only the aforementioned Armenian newspapers sent from America. Convinced that having the translation of certain pictures/articles done through the secretariat office would be highly detrimental, I am having them retained (confiscated). Due to the fall of the cabinet, the requirement for the subsequent issues of these newspapers to be detained (blocked) in Samsun in terms of harmfulness and propaganda is now fulfilled.
This is in response to the dispatch numbered 106 and dated 7/4/36.
Chief of theGeneral Staff Ahmet
Analysis:
April 7th comes just after the formal Allied occupation of Istanbul (March 16, 1920) and the return to power of the Damat Ferit Pasha Cabinet, a government that intensified its crackdown on Armenian and other minority communities as well as on the Kemalist National Movement.
The document refers to "the aforementioned Armenian newspapers sent from America", a reference to Hairenik @ArmenianWeekly, Gotchnag, and Asbarez, the main papers published by Armenian-American communities and organizations in 1919–1920. Far from being simple propaganda sheets, these were the primary channels through which the Armenian diaspora, many of whose readers were survivors or relatives of survivors of the 1915 deportations and massacres, communicated news, testimony, and appeals for justice to Armenians still living in Anatolia and to the wider world, including the Paris Peace Conference and the Harbord Mission.
Hairenik, as the organ of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Tashnag/ARF), was indeed the most vocal in advocating for an independent, unified Armenian state ("Wilsonian Armenia") encompassing the historic Armenian provinces of Eastern Anatolia and Cilicia, territories where Armenians had lived for centuries before the deportations and massacres emptied them of much of their population. From this perspective, the movement was less "propaganda" than a legitimate national claim to self-determination, consistent with the principles the Allied powers themselves were espousing at Paris.
The document's characterization of certain images as "highly harmful" and its order that they not be translated likely refers to maps illustrating the proposed boundaries of an Armenian state, alongside photographs and illustrations documenting the massacres and deportations of Armenians during and after 1915. What Ottoman authorities described as damaging propaganda, Armenian sources would describe as evidence, visual testimony of atrocities that Ottoman and later nationalist governments had strong incentive to suppress rather than allow into wider circulation.
The interception ordered at Samsun, the main entry point for Black Sea mail and press traffic from Istanbul and the United States into the Anatolian interior, reflects the broader pattern of Ottoman and Kemalist authorities blocking Armenian testimony and claims from reaching Anatolia or shaping international opinion, at a moment when the Armenian Question was still very much alive at the Peace Conference and Armenian communities were seeking protection and restitution rather than being permitted to disappear from the historical and political record.
The order was signed by the Chief of Staff (Erkân-ı Harbiye Reisi) named Ahmet, is probably Abuk Ahmed Pasha.
BREAKING: Armenians Expelled From Holy Sepulchre Church In Jerusalem After Confronting Israeli Police For Disrespecting Sacred Stone
➖➖➖
On Saturday, April 19, 2025, Armenians were violently expelled by Israeli police from Jerusalem’s Church of the Holy Sepulchre during the Holy Fire ceremony—one of the holiest days in the Christian liturgical calendar.
According to reports, a Jerusalemite Armenian witnessed a Israeli police officer placing his foot on the Stone of Anointing—the site where Jesus’ body was prepared for burial following the Crucifixion. When the Armenian pointed this out, the officer removed his foot. However, one of his colleagues then violently expelled the Armenian and his brother from the church.
Video footage shows the Armenians being forced out by Israeli police. The incident was reported by Jerusalemite-Armenian Kegham Balian on X.
A coalition of Armenian organizations has issued a joint statement urging the international community to take immediate action against Azerbaijan’s detention of philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan. The statement condemns what it describes as “political persecution” and calls for increased pressure on Azerbaijani authorities to ensure Vardanyan’s release.
Vardanyan, a businessman and former Artsakh state minister, was detained by Azerbaijani authorities following the September 2023 attack on Artsakh. His arrest is widely recognized as part of Azerbaijan’s broader campaign of political repression against Armenian figures.
The statement from Armenian organizations emphasizes the need for international bodies and governments to intervene, citing concerns over due process and human rights violations.

The concept of patriotism created in the minds of the Azerbaijani people by the Aliyev regime. When I see such videos of idiots, I am truly ashamed to be Azerbaijani. The Aliyev regime brainwashed us with these actions, starting from our childhood, for 30 years

Still wonder why Artsakh Armenians find impossible to live with Azerbaijanis?! Just look how they easily destroy what we built and own.
As says @GogaBagh, they would easily destroy everyone of us if they had chance, just like they demolished our property.
Being Azeri, is all about to live on Persian land, reading Russian literature, having Armenian architecture, believing Arab’s religion, celebrating Talysh holidays, buying Western-made technology, listening to Caucasian music, drinking Georgian wine.
But end of the day you claim that everything belongs to you, and you hate all these nations who gave you all this beauty.

Armenian cultural heritage is assimilated and transformed in Turkey.
Armenia, one of the world's oldest and greatest civilizations, was invaded and occupied by Muslim Turks from Central Asia beginning in the 11th century (first by the Seljuk and then the Ottomans).
That part occupied by Turks came to be called western Armenia. In that part of Armenia, Turks took over Armenian lands, turning Armenians and other Christians into second-class subjects. Armenian properties were looted; their churches destroyed and abused. In 1915, Turks conducted the 20th century's first genocide against Armenians. They have eventually erased the entire Armenian-Christian demographic presence and cultural heritage in those same lands where Armenians were once indigenous.
In eastern Armenia, which was under Russian influence and control, the Armenian demography, language and cultural-religious heritage has remained. In 1991, Armenians declared independence from the USSR and established the Republic of Armenia.
Historically, Turkish rule has meant impoverishment, degradation, and the eventual destruction of all non-Muslim peoples. There is no exception to this rule: Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians, and Jews in Turkey are all on the verge of extinction. Yazidis have become nearly extinct with only a handful of Yazidi individuals left.
Meanwhile, the president of Azerbaijan now calls Armenia “western Azerbaijan”. Turkey’s president has repeatedly expressed his admiration for the Ottomans who planned the 1915 Genocide.
I've read some posts claiming the government of Armenia is about to make more concessions to Turkey and Azerbaijan regarding southern Armenia. What a fatal, devastating mistake that would be for Armenians! You cannot "normalize" your relations with unrepentant regimes that aim to wipe you out from the map. Especially if you are Armenia, surrounded by two genocidal regimes, Turkey and Azerbaijan.
BREAKING: The Azerbaijan NSS has announced that they are charging Ruben Vardanyan on charges of "financial terrorism, participation in the formation of armed groups, and residing in the Republic of Azerbaijan without proper authorization."
Reminder that former Artsakh State Minister, Ruben Vardanyan, was abducted yesterday by Azerbaijan's border service from the illegal Azerbaijani checkpoint on the Berdzor corridor during the forced displacement of Armenians from Artsakh.
The government of Azerbaijan has compiled a blacklist of former and current officials from Artsakh and is demanding their unlawful detention.
#Dictator#Aliyev should pay attention to the poor and hungry people in his country instead of spending billions on weapons, war terror and killing people. or it is not necessary to forcibly force Armenians🇦🇲 from their places of residence and then show them a false show of humanism. Let him be humane to the elderly women who beg for food in Baku city. More than 70% of people in Azerbaijan🇦🇿 live in poverty. Aliyev is busy waging war and killing people.
