It is with great sadness to hear that Ray Laflamme passed away. He was a pioneer of theory of quantum error-correction. He helped me a lot when things are difficult at Perimeter.
@KalraAmolak@S_Flammia@enclanglement https://t.co/IIQkeiqefn reviving an old thread in light of this preprint. There's a comment in Sec 5 that the magic as measured by SRE is not maximized if one uses multiqubit WH group
@KalraAmolak@S_Flammia@enclanglement 2. Easy to be led astray by examples in small dimensions. Very close connection between Wigner/Magic/SIC in dimension 3. Also Hoggar fiducial is maximally magic in dimension 8. The fact that WH grp is defined wrt ℤ_d in dimension d (except for d=8) makes comparisons strained too
Here at School of Physics @TCD_physics@tcddublin We are recruiting a tenure track assistant professor in theoretical quantum science to join our vibrant team. https://t.co/DGgJZRIURq - please get in touch with me if you need further details. Closing 8th of January!
Been working on "Magic state cultivation: growing T states as cheap as CNOT gates" all year. It's finally out: https://t.co/VxQsZQJcDE
The reign of the T gate is coming to an end. It's now nearly the cost of a lattice surgery CNOT gate, and I bet there's more improvements yet.
Thanks for the pointer @HyperboIeva ! Apparently imaginary/negative amplitudes are responsible for this curious advantage, as discussed in the conclusion section.
arXiv -> alphaXiv
Students at Stanford have built alphaXiv, an open discussion forum for arXiv papers. @askalphaxiv
You can post questions and comments directly on top of any arXiv paper by changing arXiv to alphaXiv in any URL!
