@BowTied_Golfer if it's especially cold/wet/humid it's nice to know if the ball is carrying meaningfully differently before hitting your first approach on 1
@Aquilae_80085@whoinvitedjon@aubreystrobel Inheritance tax only comes into play beyond $14mm estates, and that’s per person. A couple can leave their children $28mm of property without paying any tax.
@meeijer@PeterMallouk With dividends reinvested, the SPX return is 12.5x. By the time you take into account that gains on gold are taxed at the higher collectibles rate of 28%, it’s probably somewhat of a wash.
@CPATaxTeam IME 95+% of people have moved jobs and rolled over to an IRA at some point, which makes backdoor conv unadvisable. isolating basis into current 401k is more PITA that most people don't want to deal with.
@MeasureTwiceMNY@diyreturns Spy to ijh is 0.92, and the underlying holdings themselves are 100% different. Harder to claim substantially different if both holdings and correlation of returns have massive overlap. Vti owns all of voo and then some, but correlation of returns is near 1 bc of mkt cap weighting
@MeasureTwiceMNY@diyreturns You’re leaving out the previous sentence that the DFA fund is not a pure index fund. It’s an actively traded product. That’s what makes it not substantially identical to the SPX funds- not the benchmark, which has no bearing on its statistical similarity.
