@ABC7NY Ask the @LIRR what the acceptable train capacity is during this pandemic. They can't/won't answer!
They reduced rush hour trains by 60% and are masking it as just an overall reduction of 25%. It's unsafe @CDCgov and for some reason they see no reason to immediately address it.
@LIRR can we be told what’s an acceptable level of occupancy on these crowded trains? Are you trying to get to 100% filled trains in a pandemic??? @CDCgov what do you think? @SenSchumer why is $15 mil of savings the goal here when relief is coming in by the BILLIONS?
@agreatbigcity@lirr is doing nothin to address the unsafe conditions they are forcing on thousands of commuters. What does the @CDCgov say of these conditions? LIRR is using an app to monitor train occupancy levels and their app was made before covid. It shows nothing of the unsafe conditions
@Brooks4LINY@LIRR@NYSenDems In addition to the trains added yesterday? Their app is misleading the congestion of the cars and they are not addressing average commuters that need to arrive into nyc between 8-10am. It’s a system wide problem the lirr is downplaying by saying “sporadic and isolated”
@CPUSALongIsland @NYGovCuomo@MTA@Passengershelp It’s criminal what they are doing. @LIRR customer service told@me to contact the @CDCgov about the unsafe conditions. Why are average commuters being put into this disaster of a public emergency needlessly. Friday 3/5 was a safe day. This can/should be corrected immediately
@SilerandIngber The added trains did not address any trains arriving into penn after 8am. All commuters that arrive between 8-10am (rush hour) are being forced to take unsafe trains. Complaints fell on deaf ears at penn and was told to contact @CDCgov
@EdwardRa19 @ogradynyc @phineascharles2@LIRR@PCACriders@NYGovCuomo @SenKevinThomas They’ve done nothing to address am/pm commutes across all the lines. The photos speak for themselves and their app is giving them false information about how crowded the trains are. Complaint dept at penn told us to call @CDCgov.
@LIRR@CDCgov@NassauExecutive@NYGovCuomo ALSO, @mta while trains were added this AM, it didnt add any trains arriving after 8am. From the pictures and data Monday, this should have been addressed but it’s being downplayed as isolated and sporadic when that’s far from the truth
Customer service at penn told a group of frustrated commuters that they have heard the complaints, but there is nothing they or we can do. Was told to contact @CDCgov to show the unsafe conditions the @LIRR is causing. Reverse this immediately! @NassauExecutive@MTA@NYGovCuomo
@LIRR@CDCgov@NassauExecutive@NYGovCuomo It happened as soon as the Babylon train arrived at 807 this morning. Your TrainTime app was not built with Covid safety practices in mind and is misleading on how full these trains are. I used the app and it said the car was 70% full and it’s shoulder to shoulder in these cars
@LIRR@Newsday@News12LI@tarajoycetv@NassauExecutive the 807 into penn on the Babylon line. The app shows this car as 70% full. It’s standing room only now. It’s not an isolated or sporadic issue, it was the same as yesterday and without more trains l, it’ll keep happening.
@LIRR Why have any patience? @lirr changed the schedule to create a dangerous situation that can and should be changed immediately. The app was not made with Social distancing in mind and is showing standing room only trains as half full. HELP! @NassauExecutive@Newsday
@LIRR @NassauExecutive @NYGovCuomo @nytimes the way the Lirr is tracking full trains is wrong! Car 7669 is currently standing room only. You can’t sit next to each other while social distancing. 7 more stops to go!
@LIRR Still going to be absolutely slammed again. This does nothing to address the people coming into work beginning at 8 and 9am. These commuters also saw unsafe train crowding due to Covid. You’re app is not all the information out there, talk to your conductors! Unreal.
