President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah today hosted H.E Duma Gideon Boko, President of the Republic of Botswana and his delegation for a one-day working visit.
The visit builds on the recent Bi-National Commission, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to regular consultations to ensure the effective implementation of bilateral agreements. Key areas of focus include trade promotion, infrastructure development, and natural resource management.
Discussions also highlighted strategic projects such as the Trans-Kalahari Railway and the role of Namibiaโs ports, particularly Walvis Bay, in facilitating regional trade and connectivity.
The two leaders further reflected on their shared participation in the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, underscoring the importance of conservation and sustainable development.
In the context of rising geopolitical tensions globally, both sides emphasised the need for closer cooperation among neighbours to navigate an increasingly uncertain environment, guided by shared values of international cooperation, respect for international law, and the peaceful resolution of disputes.
