True wisdom is in knowing that you know nothing.

@kwansfull Like many other situations in life, it's a collective action problem.

If I do something for the game's benefit more than my own, I'm losing out in hopes that others will do the same. If they do, we gave a chance. If not, I'm a sucker.

No one wants to be a sucker.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@hungryhorsepokr I actually know a few underground games (that I don't play in anymore) that rake preflop and one that even rakes uncalled bets.

Is the only solution to a game like that to just not play? I can't imagine how it could be beatable.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@MattAA777 @DaveBluffs I'm not gonna turn down free advice. I'll DM you.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@MattAA777 @DaveBluffs Makes sense. I've put in my time in the 6-max NLHE games as well and it makes me miss what we had 20 years ago.

I probably need to start trying PLO more.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@MattAA777 @DaveBluffs Is the general reasoning here that NLHE is drying up for good? I've noticed that it has become increasingly difficult to win, even at low stakes.

Is your recommendation the 5-6 card PLO games because they're so new?

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@MountainMarvLad Butter chicken?

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@kwansfull @SavagePoker This is possible?

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@mbfpoker And c-betting the stone airball into 3 people on KT6 two tone? Wow.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@mbfpoker Maybe I'm too nitty, but is the CO open with the 32o normal now, or is that a stream thing where she's advertising?

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@greatironchris @DO7945271923471 My father did the same thing. We had a few hundred tapes that he kept organized.

Now he watches my collection on Plex and I tell him that he inspired me to build it.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

Where can I find this seasoning? I was given this as a gift and I want more, but I can't find it anywhere.
@SeedRanchFlavor

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@simjohannson @newstart_2024 Isn't the underlying assumption that nuclear families are better overall for society? If most men aren't top % and never have kids, the only kids that'll exist won't be within a family and that will lead to worse outcomes overall.

It sounds like we need to discourage that.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@gregsgameroom77 @MikeStoklasa Arguably the greatest quote ever.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@mbfpoker It'll be summer 2029 for me. You?

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@mbfpoker Sorry, I've become pretty cynical. Probably comes with getting old. I'll be playing senior events soon enough.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@kwansfull @plenkeit2 Not sure if you ever played MtG, Derek, but a guy I used to know in Magic wrote a great article about this issue:

https://t.co/GpMMrBCWKi…

If it's tl;dr, he argues that EVERYONE would cheat if there was a 100% chance of not getting caught.

It's an interesting read.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@UriPelegPoker I belive @lsv used to refer to this as "Magical Christmasland" thinking.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@RedDragonPokerz @Kevmath The big issue here is: what does it mean to "pretend"? This is probably why the WSOP goes off of legal documents like Driver's License and the like.

[Mark Lovin @markclovin]

@PresNevins @HalfTangible Yeah, Into Darkness introduced multiple issues. The only truly excellent part of the movie was the performance by Benedict. He's incredible.
