@dave_mcpartlin Nice! I haven’t used a smart watch for nearly three years. Miss it in some ways, though think it was a good decision generally. I find myself getting annoyed when people are distracted by watches in meetings etc (but I accept people using their phones in same situations!) 🤷🏻♂️
Government’s mission to halve VAWG is ambitious and necessary. But it will need a new focus on the needs of victims – and much more emphasis on perpetrators

New Tees-wide strategy to tackle domestic abuse launched 📢
The 10-year Tackling Domestic Abuse Perpetration Strategy aims to identify perpetrators earlier and address behaviours that enable domestic abuse to happen.
@david3012@jamesmurray_ldn@BBCBreakfast I seen this interview too. I wasn’t impressed to hear the ‘to improve NHS and public services’ response to the impact on charities. Agree it definitely won’t improve those things and it just adds more pressure to the charity sector.
There's so much change happening at present. It's easy to feel powerless & overwhelmed. That's why I have gone back to sharing the classic Stephen Covey "circle of control" model with many of the teams I work with. There are lots of big changes happening that are in our "circle of concern" & we don't have the power to do much about them. But we can still make a significant difference in the world in our "circle of control" & "circle of influence". Lets put our energies into what we can control & influence.
We’re currently accepting applications for two new posts at @MVDANews - an Insight & Analytics Officer for You’ve Got This and a development co-ordinator a new Cleveland-wide Sexual Harms Network working closely with the OPCC. Please take a look & share!

The government must not forget that disability benefits are a good thing. They help disabled people to live full, happy lives. We should be proud as a country of having a system in place that provides disabled people with a safety net, and never demonise those who need to use it.
We agree with the statements and sentiment shared by sector partners @NCVO and @ACEVO in response to Wes Streeting’s comments. Charities have a legitimate right to campaign under the @ChtyCommission guidance and should not be discouraged. Throughout the comms and policy work of charities, they are advocates for their causes, helping to create real positive change through their campaigns, by working in collaboration and engaging in healthy discourse across networks. While the statements made by Wes Streeting are disappointing, we are hopeful the work through the covenant will reinforce and cement a stronger relationship between government and the voluntary sector, one which champions the vital role of charities and our work.
