@RogerMac272@AngelaRayner The mask has slipped for this lot. The electorate will show them at the next opportunity. Just got to hope that zero legislation makes it through parliament till then. Austerity, Brexit then drive the economy into a wall, great performance. Mix of shit people combined with inept.
@westlondonmike@_andysmith@AndyJackMorris@AndreSomers@JMPSimor@Jacob_Rees_Mogg Tell me, where do you think that £394m will come from as the post EU UK economy tanks compared to other countries? I’ll give you two clues 1) t*x 2) b*rrowing (or f*ture t*x), either way you and I are paying for the damage that leaving is doing to the UK economy.
@westlondonmike@_andysmith@AndyJackMorris@AndreSomers@JMPSimor@Jacob_Rees_Mogg You can't have it both ways, you've said Covid muddies the water + cited covid specific NHS funding. The EU membership is more like £250 million a week. In any case the impact on the economy from changes to trade is already far bigger than savings from the membership fee.
@westlondonmike@_andysmith@AndyJackMorris@AndreSomers@JMPSimor@Jacob_Rees_Mogg Ok. 7 years seems along time to wait to see IF there is a financial benefit. Particularly with what people were told when being asked to vote leave namely £350m extra for the NHS. What they've been delivered is an economy that is sluggish compared to those of developed countries.
@westlondonmike@_andysmith@AndyJackMorris@AndreSomers@JMPSimor@Jacob_Rees_Mogg That UK goods exports chart shows directly how Brexit is negatively affecting our economy which is sluggish compared to other developed countries who all suffered with Covid too. So now wait 5 years to see any benefit? Juice worth the squeeze?
@westlondonmike@_andysmith@AndyJackMorris@AndreSomers@JMPSimor@Jacob_Rees_Mogg agree with you neither of us know one way or the other. Leaving the EU didn't make it possible in anyway though. Also I just checked the dates both approvals took place and it was 2nd December for UK and 21st Dec for EU. Marginal. Our role out helped by our infrastructure too.
@westlondonmike@_andysmith@AndyJackMorris@AndreSomers@JMPSimor@Jacob_Rees_Mogg None of this has anything to do with being in or out of the EU. You're conflating a variety of issues together here. Our vote to leave the EU did not speed up vaccine approval or rollout. Our option to do exactly what we've done was there irrespective of membership status.
@westlondonmike@AndreSomers@_andysmith@AndyJackMorris@JMPSimor@Jacob_Rees_Mogg Both systems work. But let's be clear EU politicians are voted in just like MPs. We have an issue in the UK at the moment with the amount of mistruths that are being told in the house. But people voted in this Government and they can vote them back out when the time comes.
