OPINION: On June 4, Ferguson’s budget director sent a letter to every state agency telling them three things. Stop expanding programs. Prepare significant cuts. Don’t count on the new millionaires tax to cover anything.

Gov. Ferguson and Dems raised taxes, raided pensions, swept accounts, drained reserves and will still come up short again. That is not a revenue problem. That is a spending addiction.
Why can't the politicians help businesses by getting out of the way so the PNW entrepreneurs can create the jobs needed for the next generation. https://t.co/Vi2V3jE7BH
Socialists come to power saying they are for the people, but when in power they don’t want the people to know what they are doing and hide from transparency.
Socialism is an ideology of imposing rules on people, not letting people decide for themselves. #waleg
Washington transportation officials are considering raising toll rates on parts of I-405 and SR 167 to as much as $18 next year as the state faces projected toll revenue shortfalls tied to nearly $1 billion in corridor projects.

If you need to drive to work.
If you need to drive to take your kids to school.
If you need to drive to go to the doctor.
If you need to drive….
…. You’re a monster according to @SoundTransit.
A major contributing factor to Washington’s economic success – and why we can afford high spending on K-12 education and social programs – has been our state’s competitive tax structure. That historical edge made our state an attractive place for entrepreneurs to start businesses, which create jobs and provide billions in revenue for state government.
Unfortunately, that tax advantage is being erased by legislative Democrats, who enacted the largest tax increases in state history this biennium, according to a new study from the Washington Research Council.
Legislative Republicans recognize that these policies are not only compounding our state’s affordability crisis and weakening the state’s economic outlook, but will ultimately harm the very programs they were designed to finance.
Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson doesn't care if millionaires leave over the income tax -- and every other tax. Well, she may not care but YOU should. Here's why.
Starbucks was started in 1971 in downtown Seattle. Howard Schultz bought it in 1987 and took it public in 1992 with 140 stores, then grew it to 677 locations by 1995. Today it has 38,000 stores across more than 80 countries.
Katie Wilson was just elected Seattle Mayor on November 13, 2025 when she called for a boycott of Starbucks.
Starbucks officially announced their new headquarters with 2,000 employees in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 21, 2026.
Another example of how democrat socialist policies actually work out.
Olympia Democrats are spending over half a BILLION dollars to setup the system to collect the income tax.
This means that even when the tax is tossed by voters, referendum, or initiative;
Washington state will still have a massive IRS style collection agency setup up for future taxes, with 300 new employees.

The income tax isn’t the end, it’s the beginning….
Socialist Sean Scott from Seattle is proposing 5% employment tax on wages over $135,000.
Is $135,000 a year considered rich?
This as they say the income tax only impacts Millionaires….
"We've been here for 75 years...I've invested in my local community, I've done a lot of philanthropy, why are they attacking me?"
WA state truck dealership owner and Future 42 Executive Steve Gordon joins other local business leaders to discuss Washington's new income tax, and why it will be an economical apocalypse for Puget Sound.

Designed play. In order to create a funding crisis in the mind of the public, decision makers always cut popular & visible programs, rather than prioritize funding towards those efforts. Creates the impression with voters that the government NEEDS more of your money & the next tax increase is easier to get.
"The voters should be able to weigh in on the income tax" says Gov. Bob Ferguson, who intentionally did not remove the emergency clause to allow voters to weigh in.

“We’ll try to get this taken right to the Supreme Court because unlike the income tax law, this actually is an emergency because the timing is so short,"
Let's Go Washington founder Brian Heywood, on the Referendum being denied by Secretary of State Steve Hobbs for SB 6346 The Income Tax.

The camel’s ass is under the tent. Bob Ferguson and his SEIU bosses creation of a state income tax that will undoubtedly have an insatiable appetite for the middle class is a terrible day for Washington’s economic future. You get the government you deserve, will the voters of our state fight back or cheer on this nonsense? 🇺🇸
