Hawthorn traded Pick 9 + Picks 31, 42 and 43 to Carlton for Picks 10 and 22.
Later, Carlton traded Pick 9 + Pick 43 to Essendon for Picks 21, 27 and 30.
Essendon then used Pick 9 to draft Dyson Sharp.

@Trats1999 @SWEB1994 We ended up with pick 10 anyway. Hawks traded it to Carlton who gave it to Essendon for a couple of late picks. If Hawks had of played fair and tried to negotiate with the bombers they might have gotten Merrett last year. But they waited till half hour to go in trade week.
