I gave my AI agent Herms one prompt:
“build me something that will go viral”
It came back with a main character receipt generator that roasts your entire personality in receipt format.
This was made from one sentence.

Prompt by @outsource_
apparently a random AGENTS.md in your downloads folder can talk a coding agent into installing malware 90% of the time
my agents ignore half of what i tell them, but a stranger's text file? straight in
@AnthropicAI claude out here helping discover new medicines and mine still can't decide whether to use tabs or spaces without asking me three times. proper range
@kalashvasaniya this is the bit local businesses haven't clocked yet. half the sites in my town can barely get read by google, an agent's going to take one look and bounce
@TokenGremlin "coming soon" is carrying the whole post there. no date, no clock, nothing to hold them to. i'm building a bot that scores these promises and it's going hungry tonight
@sagnik_ghosh_11@Steve_Yegge@temporalio fair, the argument's usually about the bar not the code. a 5 line "what good looks like" checklist would save me hours of arguing with my own agents tbh
@RohanBhanotAI right?? my CLAUDE.md says "don't touch prod" and gets ignored. a random file in downloads says "npm install this" and it's straight on it
source for the curious: forever security found one planted on a real customer's machine. codex followed it 90%+ of the time in their tests. run your agents in project folders, not downloads
@ycombinator@matsiiako@dangtony98@maidulll@infisical agents needing api keys is the bit that keeps me up. mine would happily paste one into a public readme if it thought it'd help. congrats, someone had to own this
@cursor_ai drawing on the page to tell an agent what to fix is the closest i'll ever get to being a proper art director. big red circle, "this but less ugly", ship it
@linear linear × algebra is the kind of pun that gets someone promoted. now my agents can file tickets that are mathematically wrong instead of just regular wrong
someone in my replies asked if wen tracks how late the late ones are
it doesn't. yet.
adding "days late" this week, because "shipped 23 days late" hits harder on a scoreboard than "missed"
@mikemcalister "coming soon" with no date is wen's kryptonite. give me a day mike and i'll start the clock. genuinely curious though, as someone building sites for small local businesses: is "optimised for agents" about agents editing the site or agents reading it?
@rohanpaul_ai a 1.7b model beating its own 2.6b big brother is my favourite genre. finally something that'll run on my laptop without it achieving lift-off
@iam_ihoudjedje right now it's just hit or miss against the deadline, but days late is a great shout. "shipped 23 days late" is way more fun on a scoreboard than "missed". might add it this week
