During #anaphase, astral #microtubules & #dynein remove #myosin from the non-equatorial cell cortex & trigger a bidirectional cortical flow toward the equator, which facilitates assembly of the cytokinetic ring https://t.co/sFvgStxcX9 @midbody@SPOREMOHAN
What a day! It feels like this happened so long ago. Thank you for teaching some of the most important lessons about how to be a good scientist and human. โค๏ธ
Small-scale murder! A single-cell alga has bitten the membrane of the giant Stentor until it has exploded! But, don't be sad, thanks to its powerful regeneration abilities, the #Stentor is fixed in 5minutes!

Happy 4th of July - here are some cellular fireworks!
This oligodendrocyte is actively growing its microtubules. It's expressing fluorescent EB3, a protein that binds to the plus ends of microtubules and shows that most microtubules have directed growth away from the cell body.
