@RedDave14 @eoinyk This is misleading way of putting it. The compensation was all paid at the time of abolition. As the amount was 40% of the national budget at the time, the compensation was funded through loans that were later restructured. 2015 is a guess at when the loan was finally paid off.

For the majority of my adult life @UKLabour has made itself unelectable. Blair as leader got the party into power and so did Starmer. Obviously large parts of @UKLabour hate them both with a passion.
