@RepTenney@WaysandMeansGOP Thank you! Caregivers for Compromise groups across the US are grateful for your sponsorship and support of this important legislation! #isolationkillstoo
Thrilled to see my bipartisan Essential Caregivers Act advance through @WaysandMeansGOP.
During COVID, families were locked out while vulnerable seniors and people with disabilities were left isolated. That canย never happen again.
This critical, commonsense legislation ensures loved ones can be there when they are needed most.
@RealSKeshel@just_mindy My mom was diagnosed in February,
1992. Gone 6 months later. She told me her only regret was her only grandchild, 18 months old wouldnโt remember her. She was 62, I was 29. Devastating!
@Stand4HealthFL@RonDeSantis@CaseyDeSantis You left off reopening nursing homes when he realized the harm that isolation was doing to our most vulnerable.
He led the US in safely reopening & in Essential Caregiver legislation, the No Patient Left Alone law which means noone will ever die alone again.
@James_dukes12 Come join the Jax Bulldog Club for the festivities in 2028 and youโll understand why this game should never leave. Best atmosphere in college football! #wlocp
@SusieBdds I have done this for family members for decades and itโs why Iโm now a Board Certified Patient Advocate and do this for a living. You will get inferior care if you donโt have an advocate, a very sad fact in American medicine today.
@Riley_Gaines_ Iโm a patient advocate specializing medical bill resolution, a much-needed service exactly for this reason. Let me know if I can help. https://t.co/4VBjQBIGoG
@NasheCeezet_zw Im not buying this. Iโve managed drs offices for 30+ years & Iโve always said you have to be honest w how the dr works. Itโs our fault when pts wait & most offices donโt give a damn.
During COVID, families in NY were kept from their loved ones in their final moments.
They could not hold hands and were forced to say goodbye over the phone.
At todayโs hearing with @SecKennedy, I made clear: my Essential Caregivers Act ensures this never happens again.
HR6766 and its companion bill S3492 applies to any emergency - health, disaster, weather, defense, alien invasion, zombie apocalypse, whatever - where people who depend on 24/7 skilled nursing to survive are restricted from their federal right to in-person access in the interest of health or safety. Families have worked on this for SIX YEARS and every session, it is given low or no priority. Please. Can we change that this session? @claudiatenney@JohnLarsonCT@JohnCornyn@SenBlumenthal@WaysMeansCmte@WaysandMeansGOP@RepLloydDoggett@LloydDoggettTX
