The claim that “Christians invented hospitals” is simply false.
Centuries before Christian Europe had organized medical institutions, Muslims built the first true hospitals in human history , open to all people, free of charge, and run by trained physicians.

📜 Facts:
•The first general hospital (bīmāristān) was built in Baghdad in 805 CE under Caliph Harun al-Rashid , nearly 800 years before the first European hospital system appeared.
•Muslim hospitals were state-funded, open 24/7, and completely free, regardless of religion or class.
•They had separate wards for men and women, medical schools, pharmacies, libraries, and systematic patient records , all innovations the Christian world later adopted.
•Renowned hospitals existed in Cairo, Damascus, Córdoba, and Granada, influencing Europe through Muslim Spain and the Crusades.

Even Western historians acknowledge this:

“The Muslims of the Middle Ages were the first to establish hospitals in the modern sense of the word.”

So yes Christian institutions later played an important role in modern healthcare, especially in the last few centuries, but the concept, structure, and compassion-based model of the hospital began with Muslims — rooted in the Qur’anic principle:
