My side project is coming along. Custom game engine for Vision Pro. You can define scenes in a Mac app and then run them on Vision Pro. PBR.
All Swift.
Progress!
It seems like a lot of zoomers at work simply do not have the sauce.
Just show up to meetings on time and have your camera turned on and you’re in the top 10% of zoomer employees
I had Muse Spark 1.1 teach me about the history of US men's soccer across all World Cups, and it one-shotted this presentation
Super impressed. It did research using multiple tools, gathered images, and brought everything together in a cohesive (and engaging) way
This took literally 6 minutes and 1 prompt
Amazing work from @AIatMeta. Can't believe this model is already outperforming Opus 4.8 (esp at creating these presentations). Going to be game-changing for educators + knowledge work."
People don’t realize that Zuckerberg is all in on AI because he refuses to pay a 30% tax to platform owners for the rest of his life
Meta caught the shift towards mobile back in the early 2010s, but they were never able to create their own hardware platform to capture users in their ecosystem
As a result, they got stuck paying a 30% tax to Apple on in-app purchases, which has cost Meta billions of dollars in profit
Zuckerberg is keen on making sure this natural monopoly or duopoly structure doesn’t emerge again in AI where a couple of players can become the toll booth for accessing every platform on the web
For Zuck, this is existential, and if he has to burn every last dollar of free cash flow today to achieve this, he will do it
If that sounds crazy, look at it from the perspective of Zuckerberg
He has never held a job in his entire life. Being Meta’s CEO is all he has ever known since he was 18 years old. He has nothing to lose
He is the exact type of person you should never bet against, no matter what odds someone gives you
(1) Today we're releasing Muse Spark 1.1 -- a strong agentic and coding model at a very low price. It's available through our new Meta Model API and in Meta AI.
My all time favorite Haaland quote: "I try and tell myself it doesn't matter. Nothing matters. If you tell yourself it doesn't matter-like you do shows, you do this, you do that, and then you have earthquakes in India where 400,000 people get killed. Honestly it doesn't matter."
Tesla is one of the smartest, cracked and most advanced engineering companies in the world.
If they actually did this, then it is likely verifiably true that a dollar above $200/week is waste.
THIS THING COMING AT YOU
Duke University had developed Argus, a 20-legged robot equipped with a camera on each leg, drawing inspiration from the visual system of the sea urchin.
another monday at my SQL job despite trillions of dollars in capex and the efforts of the very smartest people in the world working day and night to replace me with a slack bot
Learn to ship. Shipping is a skill distinct from coding. Shipping is designing, coding, QAing, story-telling, teaching, marketing, selling, pivoting, iterating…
It used to be that coding dominated in importance because of coding ability scarcity. AI will push you to go further.
