US JOBS CRACKED.

October Fed hike odds have gone from 64% last week to less than 20% today.

You’d expect the dollar to be getting smoked.

Instead?

DXY is above 102.
The US 10Y is still around 5.27%.
Gold is slipping.
EURUSD hit a 17 month low.

That tells you this market is not just trading the Fed anymore.

France is blowing out.

French 10Y spreads over Germany hit around 150bp, levels we haven’t seen since the eurozone debt crisis.

So now you’ve got:

A weaker US labour market.

Lower October hike odds.

Still elevated US yields.

A stronger dollar.

A collapsing euro.

And gold still struggling.

That is the real story today.

Lower Fed hike odds do NOT automatically mean weaker dollar and higher gold.

Currencies are relative.

Bond markets are relative.

And right now Europe has its own problem.
