@TheXerxesHQ Alicent Hightower's proposal? No. It was Otto who suggested it. Even if that happened you will still have other factions: 1) Daemon's side; 2) Rhaenys&Corlys. Dance of Dragons might still happen anyway.
@Me09919200@TheXerxesHQ Not only by: 1) ensuring male primogeniture by making it as official law, heavier than King's Words=declaring Daemon as heir; 2) Viserys not remarry. But also 3) Remove Otto&Larys from court. 4) Reconcile with Rhaenys&Corlys side. So they can't be rallied for contesting claim.
@Me09919200@TheXerxesHQ What you suggested will make the claim stronger. But pretty sure, Otto will find a way to contest it one way or another, maybe he will rally his faction to Rhaenys or trying to marry Laenor with Alicent, and so on. So Otto and Larys should be isolated too.
@buff_err Aemond is not playing the game of thrones for The Greens, not for House Strong, and certainly not for Aegon II. Larys is playing only for himself. Remember he put Otto in the dungeon and left a message: it's a gift for Daemon?
@SymplyTonbra@Creativemelody1 True. Nobody label Tywin as The Cruel when he eliminated House Tarbeck and Reynes even down to the children too. He orchestrated the sack of King's Landing and then also Red Wedding too. Meanwhile, book Rhaenyra was considered as the cruel and show Rhaenyra was labelled as weak.
@Daykerpriest@Samthrilzz Targaryen converted to Faith of The Seven and Andals custom. Despite Jaeharys made Doctrine of Exceptionalism. Problem is Otto made Viserys removed Daemon and appointed Rhaenyra as his heir. This made The Law of Male Primogeniture put lower under the King's Words.
@prissyfalou Stop this campist non-sense. Both team committed war crimes, both wrecked the realm. Dance of Dragons is combination of tragedy, fait accompli, and atrocities.
@emeyorX Otto is a sly, cunning, and opportunistic politician like Petyr Baelish, however unlike Little Finger, Otto like to pretend as if he's selfless, kind, and honorable. Saying, "You're a king but I don't envy you",etc. That's why he advised Viserys to marry Rhaenyra to Aegon.
@Kiminino72@NodeOfWeb3 That is true. Problem is they didn't made any official law after that Great Council. It was followed by another problem: Otto made Viserys disinherit Daemon by making Rhaenyra heir to Iron Throne.
@i_antioch@Lairdphoenix27 If I was Rhaenyra, a Lannister supporting a usurper is not only punishable by death but also deserved to be stripped from their seat, wealth, and titles--a complete erasure of their House. Let them follow House Casterly into extinction.
@rahul14134460@Samthrilzz The Iron Throne rejecting someone was only a myth/interpretation projected by people. Aegon I only meant it as ruler should never sits easy.
@RebeccaJane6@sanjayk79308430@Mayham_H Nettles was meant to be a proof that you don't have to be a Targaryen or Valyrian or having their blood to be able to claim and control a dragon. It's something that exposed Targaryen's supremacy as nothing more than a myth.
