Development Practitioner . . . interested in community, sustainability, Kingdom, and where I fit in the big puzzle. I work at @Foodgrains but tweets are my own!
My son is Autistic, and he is obsessed with hockey arenas, not hockey, hockey arenas. He wants to visit one every weekend, then comes and draws them for hours at home.
If anyone has pics of hockey rinks please share, and supply the name. It would make my 5 year old so happy!
@JDVance Dear Ambassador Hoekstra, @USAmbCanada, what was it you were saying this week about "meddling" and targeting your country and your president's policies. Pot, meet kettle.
The seemingly outsized cuts to Global Affairs Canada in Budget 2025 are hard to square with the government’s repeated call to expand and deepen Canada's international partnerships. Reinvesting in the military is welcome – but defence is just one tool of our international policy.
@DannySpxp Normally from Montreal, but currently in Rotterdam for Games 2-7! Had to go to bed early, shut off my phone and then watch it on the app at 5 am so I could watch the game and still get to my conference. #WANTITALL
Famine in Gaza is a man-made disaster. Aid sits just across the border but trucks are blocked by Israel while bombings continue to kill mostly civilians. This isn’t a natural crisis, it’s deliberate starvation. A ceasefire is urgent. Every hour costs lives. Aid must get in now.
Hey @VIA_Rail, could you please update your Montreal train station page (Montréal train station | VIA Rail) with links to the new-ish REM (Réseau express métropolitain - Home)?
A targeted strike hit a joint @WFP@UNICEF convoy in Sudan.
5 convoy team members were killed. Trucks torched. Food for families facing famine in El Fasher—destroyed.
This is unconscionable. Humanitarians are #NotATarget. We demand safe, unhindered access NOW.
Rainbows over the @RICA_Rwanda campus today! Such a gorgeous place. Thanks to all the RICA staff for the warm welcome of the @Foodgrains conference delegation.
I wrote a few reflections on our visit to the @peace_pdn and @RICA_Rwanda today as part of the @Foodgrains-supported regional gathering in Rwanda. https://t.co/9H4WSIDrlN
When talking about the CA master trainer programs, where the @Foodgrains network is training trainers, including government extension agents in multiple countries, to really start to scale CA learning and adoption: “Partnerships multiply impact” Balthazar Nizeyimana. (3/3)
A few quotes I heard yesterday in the @Foodgrains regional partners gathering in Kigali, where we are focusing on “Facing the Future Together for Transformed Food Systems”: “If we can’t help people put food on their tables, we all lose.” Rev Emmanuel, Tearfund Rwanda. (1/3)
“All of the principles of CA and CA Plus are important. It’s like neighbouring countries needing to collaborate and work together to thrive. Or all the parts of the body being necessary and important and working together in order for the boardy to thrive.” (2/3)
Excited to help open the @Foodgrains conference “Facing the Future Together for Transformed Food Systems” in Kigali. We’re with our members & partners from Central & West Africa. My message: the theme of this conference is not a slogan, it’s a call to collaborate more profoundly.
@PierrePoilievre@dckurek Glad Carney said he won't play games w/ by-election bc this is just an inevitability but I think it's funny to NOT hear Cons crying about anti-democratic processes, like they did when Carney took over as PM. For the electors of this riding, this is as anti-democratic as it gets.
