@SaveOasis Some ideas - main point provides incr flex to position as a regional centre - keep/grow a 'full fat' leisure centre/district with nearby ents too? Put Swindon on map and draw in visitors as well as business?!
Good news. @SaveOasis - this could also open up potential opportunities to help #Swindon Oasis with a wider regional view of infrastructure & leisure linked to housing?

We are deeply saddened by the news that Roy Burnham – the Prime Minister’s father – has died. Roy had been living with Alzheimer’s disease.
The loss of a parent leaves an immeasurable gap in our lives.
While every family's experience is unique, many of us understand the long and often challenging journey that Alzheimer's disease can bring, not only for the person living with the condition but for those who love them.
The Prime Minister has been a longstanding advocate for improving the lives of people affected by dementia, often drawing on his father's experiences.
As Mayor of Greater Manchester, he supported dementia-focused initiatives delivered with us, including the expansion of our Singing for the Brain programme and ran alongside thousands at the Great North Run for Alzheimer’s Society in 2024. Most importantly, he has consistently used his voice to highlight the urgent need for social care and dementia care reforms.
We send our heartfelt condolences to his family and to anyone else who has experienced the heartache of losing someone to dementia.
@NeilPithouse@SaveOasis@SevenCapital How patronising of Summers to say the people of Swindon can't afford to go to watch entertainment, does he not realise how many people travel to Bristol ,London etc to watch events!!!
@swindonadver@SwindonCouncil Pass rate - Swindon 94.9% (or 95.4% with Ciren Coll sts) VS 97.5% Eng & 97.7% SW. A*-B - Swindon 36.5% (37.8% with Ciren) VS 55.5% Eng & 54.8% SW. A*-A (for top unis) - Swindon 13.6% VS 28.3% Eng & 27.1% SW. Figures for disadvantaged students showed even larger gaps. @gsum66
@mrrjwilson@LukeTryl That is ofc possible but a re-run outcome even in a solid seat is never certain. Esp with Reform's national polling wavering & fact that 72.% of the total av electorate in Clacton either abstained or voted for other candidates - even w/o other parties incl Restore.
@CountBinface Well done! Importantly, if the Parliamentary standards inquiry triggers a recall petition your votes are more than sufficient to meet 10% threshold for a new by election! 🗳️ 🍿
Thames Water's finance director given a £1,000,000 signing on bonus.
Water industry depravity hits an all time low. Their contempt for customers and the environment clearly knows no bounds.
When are govt going to intervene and put a stop to this? @andyburnham@angelaeagle
