@ArmedJ0y A few years ago dismantling the NFA at all, let alone to this degree in our lifetimes was unthinkable anywhere in the country.
You scored these federal victories by constantly pushing the issue. It will just take more time and pressure to get there in our less friendly states.
Tired of this excuse. First of all, social security is not something you “pay into.” If it were, you wouldn’t need younger people to “pay into it” in order to get your check. But you do. Because this is a Ponzi scheme, not a retirement account. What you really mean to say is that your money was stolen from you — which it was — and now you want to steal from younger people to get restitution. That’s the actual case you’re making and it’s exactly as morally deranged as it sounds.
Second, your generation continually for decades voted for politicians who would keep the scheme going. You might not have invented social security, but you damn sure made certain it kept going. Why should younger people have to pay the price for the shitty policies you supported?
Third, you “paid into” social security in a different time. The country is now bankrupted and 40 trillion dollars in debt, and basic things like housing are prohibitively expensive. It wasn’t like that when you were young, because your generation of leadership created this problem.
So the theme here is that there are a bunch of problems you guys either created or contributed to. You can choose to pay the price for that now, or force your grandchildren to pay the price so you can live comfortably until you die and leave them holding the bag. You’ve chosen the latter, and I think that’s wrong. Simple as that.
I want to take a second to recognize my appellate attorney, Matthew Larosiere. @FuddBusters
After getting crushed at trial—with attorneys who were NOT Matt—and being sentenced to 20 years in federal prison, I was basically helpless. Locked in a cell, with no resources and no idea how I was ever going to get out.
My family called hundreds of firms. Most couldn’t even tell us what an NFA weapon was, yet wanted $50,000–$100,000 just to “get involved.”
Then Matt stepped the hell up.
He never demanded a penny. He put my freedom ahead of everything and fought his ass off in a system where the odds were stacked against me.
Others joined the fight later, and I’m grateful for every single person who did. But I think it’s important that people know Matt was there from the beginning.
Matt, you fought for my freedom when I had nothing left to fight with.
Thank you. I’ll never forget it.
@invincibleserv1 Her conversation with Kalin was great, very interested to see where her story goes.
They're like 2 sides of the same coin. Both ex-griffon. 1 completely jaded but still chooses to work within the system, and the other an optimist who gives up on the system and sets off on her own
@PNWConservative Look at his face. This mockery doesn't even bring him any joy, he doesn't think it's funny.
Whatever's left of his soul is just running on autopilot.
@sendboots Because as originally envisioned, *These* (not The) United States are basically all their own independent nations bound together by a loose federal system.
Someone from Arizona is going to have a very different culture & identity than someone from Massachusetts.
@vimiyui When people say 'I don't follow politics' to you what they actually mean is 'You're not emotionally stable enough to handle a political conversation, so I don't feel comfortable sharing my beliefs with you.'
