@ScottFergusonAL@sweatystartup Lots of science to support. Also lots of lifestyle implications to consider with OIT. That's why as a patient myself I prefer SLIT (Sublingual Immunotherapy) for Food. Tiny drops under the tongue. Less scary. https://t.co/kfnF8FDEQ1
@bsgross606@sweatystartup big differences with sublingual (SLIT) vs. oral (OIT). Sublingual a lot safer, smoother, and can be done fully at home. Oral have to go to clinic 2x/month for hours+, long rest periods with daily doses, high reactions, fear, anxiety especially w/ kids.
@awilkinson@ShaanVP Great insight Andrew. Kari is now at Harvard. Sounds like there's several immunologic co-factors that need to be addressed to not perturb the immune system. Here to help
Always feel better about our #FoodAllergy community after speaking with my friend Matt Bomes. He shared with me their work and the new ideas, therapies & plans for the future. Keep an eye on Allerx and the progress they are making for us. @matt_bomes
@LGConstable@paigefinnn Love this! Circa 2020 a friend asked his 70+year old dad when was the best time of his life? He said it was always the moment he was living in right now. I wish I heard this sooner. I’m almost 28. Happy birthday! 🎉
@NoNutTraveler It’s not like other diseases where you just see a doctor and adhere to the medication.
#Foodallergy is an invisible lifestyle disease that needs to be cared for differently.
Empathy & Empowerment!!

@davegerhardt You probably already do. Like recording a live video session while screen-sharing some digital white-boarding tool...maybe it's that...virtual white-boarding with DG.
@AllergyKidsDoc when a patient undergoes an oral food challenge at your #FoodAllergy Treatment Center, do you perform the test and monitor the patient, or does one of your nurses perform the test and monitor the patient? Asking for a friend...
