@jmdagdelen@boztank Whenever I work with meta eng directly the experience is great because they care. It's been pretty clear that they're just bad at prioritization and focus across the teams. Almost as if feature leads have their hands tied when leadership is focused on the shiny things.
@afoxdesign@Rengle820 I wouldn't apply to a company if it wasn't something I'm passionate about. Work takes so much of your life that it's worth putting some effort into making sure it's something you care about and a group of people you're aligned with. Find that and no one will be "making" you gush
@Heaney555 I definitely wonโt pull my punches on perf stuff but in this case it sounds like it wasnโt intentional. This is why it shouldnโt have been leaked.
@Heaney555 at the end of the day I think it just got blown up because of the ongoing degradation everyone has been seeing so everyone's on edge. That said, the internal chat about it shouldn't have been leaked... it needs to be a safe space for meta to communicate with devs.
@Heaney555 I think it's difficult to understand the impact scale. It's an opt-in setting so likely relatively small but devs can't track it. I bet folks working on it had the right intentions but it failed to be tested well. Imho it was due to a coordination/prio/comms issue internally
@dziemid@Rengle820 unfortunately Meta still runs it's own IK because of their parametric body solution. Our custom IK adds a bit (just for the local player. remote don't need it) but ultimately we were able to get to a spot better than the previous version.
Probably one of the most complex things I've ever worked on. So many considerations go into a golf swing and then applying it to anyone just based on two inputs (head and one controller) was quite the challenge.
GOLF+ now uses the new Meta Avatars with legs, and implemented a custom IK system to make them work well for golf swings.

@maxweisel@cursor_ai unity C#. It added a function today along with some class props to the wrong file and couldn't clean it up from there after moving it to the correct file even after multiple prompts. I have it set to the default model which may be the issue but the others fail on me too much
