Normcore 3 is out!!

Our team has been doing incredible things with this release. I'm so proud of everyone who worked on this and all of the developers shipping titles with Normcore.

We've hosted over one billion multiplayer games, and we're on our way to 1 billion more!

[Normcore @normcore_io]

Announcing Normcore 3.

We've hosted over one billion multiplayer games. Today we're releasing our biggest update since the launch of Normcore.

Host rooms with 100+ players, sync scenes without code, automatically match users together, and a lot more.

@mflux my needs are being able to open Unity projects

[Max Weisel @maxweisel]

Out of curiosity, has anyone started a project like PhotoCraft for Unity?

I would be down to fund an open source, clean room engineered Unity alternative that's Unity project compatible.

PhotoCraft starts up /instantly/. Imagine UnityCraft with instant domain reloads.

[Max Weisel @maxweisel]

@mjmurdoc I think you’d need true Unity compatibility to be a strong enough bridge for most studios to use it. I don’t think the yaml format would be a blocker.

[Max Weisel @maxweisel]

@Azadux I expect the architecture and performance characteristics are different enough that it would be easier to try to make a Unity compatible engine.

[Max Weisel @maxweisel]

@saniul Stay tuned :)

[Max Weisel @maxweisel]

@ronjart @buddingmonkey I haven't seen any Quest store games go the full no-game-engine route yet, but I've seen indies make some amazing Quest games with Godot. It feels like it's pretty close to being the Blender of game engines.

@RenjiBijoy @visor That bottom headset is the Gravity XR M1 reference design, not anything made by Visor/Immersed.

@cyannick doing god’s work. I would /kill/ to be able to enter play mode in the unity editor on mac and use my Quest directly. nice work!

[Max Weisel @maxweisel]

@UAudio I've already disassembled the kext and I know exactly where the bug is. Please, I am begging you, let me come fix it for free. I have lost countless hours to this bug.

[Max Weisel @maxweisel]

It's incredible how much my @UAudio Apollo Twin X has improved my music production skills because every time I unplug it while my computer is sleeping, it crashes my Mac and I lose all of my work and have to start over. Love you @UAudio

[Max Weisel @maxweisel]

@UAudio I already did that 3+ years ago and was told to "disable sleep on your mac in the meantime"

Please let me join @UAudio for 3 weeks. I will personally fix this bug for you for free. I'm sure it erodes your brand. I certainly will never buy another @UAudio interface ever again.

[Max Weisel @maxweisel]

@UAudio please let me join your team for 3 weeks. I will personally fix this bug for you for free. It has cost me countless hours and frustration. I filed a bug report 3+ years ago and it's still not fixed. UAudio's response was "disable sleep on your mac in the meantime"

They've won the award for the world's worst kext for 6+ years in a row. I wish Apple required app review for kexts.
