@LoveOfLeech never got the radiohead comparison. maybe the bends era, a little? but that's before radiohead really sounded like radiohead. for me it emphasizes how most people just hear a lead singer's tone of voice and make connections based on that
@benjimadness "killing in the name" sucks and much of the self-titled is a slog but "the battle of los angeles" is all heat as are quite a few tracks from the other records
@HardcoreFreddy@GianmarcoSoresi any mother would defend her son no matter what he did, we don't punish families for that because we understand they aren't thinking clearly. you people are unnatural freaks
@soonrightaway one thing about rednecks... i see what he's doing, but using lester maddox as a case study in hyocritical yankee sneering is some weak shit. maddox wasn't just some yokel, he was governor of a state!
@pissvortex he really only oversteps by adding "any." he may have more reach than bangs or christgau ever did, but compared to developing and defining pop music criticism as a form, i'm not sure those raw numbers matter as much
@barselphon@SMYXKUZA2005 when this happens i make eye contact with the cashier, do a little head nod, and take a half-step forward. works every time. other customer doesn't mind
