Indianapolis has been a major center for neurosurgery and the moment is unique with more growth ahead, including:
- construction of a brand new Downtown Hospital complex with over 850 beds and investiment of 4.5 bi USD
- expansion of the Skull Base Program with strong collaboration between Neurosurgery and ENT @iu_otoloraryngokogy, including Jonathan Ting, Rick Nelson and Sat Sreenath and much more!
- New Skull Base Lab to open in 2025
- Expansion of the Neuro-oncology center @IU_NeuroOnc with top notch work by Na Tosha Gatson, Mitesh Shah @AngelaMRichard1 and colleagues
- large residency training program with 18 residents and CAST approved fellowships @AANSNeuro@CNS_Update
We will be working to develop world class patient care on open and endoscopic skull base surgery, surgical education and simulation at Skull Base Lab and to continue our efforts on clinical research in brain tumors and new modalities on AI, VR, 3D printing and partnering to bring new trials and collaborations to Indiana!
