@NoutheticC@jared_poulton@newgrowthpress Love this series as well! My oldest (4) has noticed that Ted the Turtle (the brother to Tomas and Tori in "Tori comes out of her shell") is missing from "Tomas looks up and out" and keeps asking me where Ted the Turtle went. @newgrowthpress can you help reconcile where Ted is?
Part of why the @maroonband is so great is that the directors and staff care about the members as if they were their own kids. The policy change, like this, is just a small example of how the FMB truly cares for one another like a family should in all areas of life.
@JustinMStrawn I was in the @maroonband when the hot UAB game happened and a significant number of people at DWS were having heat-related issues including FMB people. One member had a severe medical incident and that moment impacted band leadership to rightly put the health of the members first
This article is correct that pastors should NOT be therapists. But the real reason is vastly different. We should not be therapists because therapists are out of their league and lane. They have no right to seize the territory of pastoral ministry. God has given his church the dominion of spiritual matters. Therapists have crossed over into a realm that belongs to the church.
We are pro doctors for medical issues. But to confuse physicians and therapists is to misunderstand much. The word of God is not a lamp unto our feet for merely simple and easy matters. God's word is living and active. Sharper than any two edged sword.
Pastors should be competent to counsel and equipped to handle hard cases of pastoral ministry. If you are a pastor and feel ill equipped, don't send your sheep into the bankrupt world of therapy. Instead, get trained in the sufficient Scriptures. Ask for help, but don't subject your people to the wisdom of the world.
@pastor_ferguson I worked landscaping for five years (primarily mowing and irrigation) while doing my graduate work at SWBTS. It was a glorious time to listen to audiobooks and podcasts. Probably haven't listened to a podcast since I graduated.

@10RobertWilliam And 30 of us there were pep band members. The bright side was we had plenty of room to run around the arena during "The Horse" at the end of the game. I try to forget this game and the Missouri game that happened 10 days before that.
