The NSW Department of Education website has some fantastic ideas for promoting cultural inclusion at both the whole school and classroom level. Check it out! #UoNTeach

Twitter has been a fantastic platform for accessing and sharing resources about cultural diversity. Instead of having to force myself to complete this assessment, I actually really enjoyed completing this task at my own pace and on a topic I find interesting. #UoNTeach
Classroom instruction often overlooks the importance of encouraging and explicitly teaching students to think creatively. In relation to 21st century learning I believe creativity should be of high priority (Gregory, Hardiman, Yarmolinskaya, Rinne & Limb, 2013). #UoNTeach
I agree @BenWint51965237! Not only can inquiry-based learning encourage curiosity, but it can also allow students to learn in a way that works for them. Thanks for sharing Ben. Love the Walt Disney quote!
Inquiry based learning stimulates student interest and expands understandings of specific concepts, making meaning in authentic contexts (Walan & Rundgren, 2015). Formulating questions beginning with “I wonder” is an inspiring start to explore local geography/history. #UoNTeach
After using Twitter for some time now, not only has it changed my perception, but it has revealed to me of the collaborative community it facilitates. Twitter has allowed me to connect with various people and share ideas and thoughts surrounding cultural diversity. #UoNTeach
Out of curiosity, reflecting back to your schooling years, did you prefer to complete tasks within a group or individually?
I'm just curious about everyone's preference as I am planning to incorporate cooperative learning within my unit of work. #UoNTeach
Not only would a school farm unlock various learning opportunities for students, but it would also allow for the possibility of an integrated curriculum with a strong focus on environmental sustainability. #UoNTeach
Such a great book for introducing children to the concept of belonging for the first time. Without the inclusion of words, I feel like this would encourage students too critically think and reflect upon the idea of belonging a lot more. Thanks for sharing @morts_a!
To support the development of #Belonging in classrooms Jeannie Baker's book by the same name is a great intro and conversation starter on the topic. #UoNTeach https://t.co/TYAY8dNHtN
The 21st century will require students to develop metacognitive skills, which won't include memorisation and repetition but instead will require social skills. I believe cooperative learning is the answer to developing these social skills (Ferguson-Patrick, 2018). #UoNTeach
Teacher education programs are responsible for preparing students to work with all children and their families. This is why our pedagogy needs to display a cultural relevancy to ensure that we are creating an inclusive school environment (Goodman & Hooks, 2016). #UoNTeach
@c3204455 I totally agree with you @c3204455! I believe outdoor learning can unlock numerous learning opportunities for students along with having the potential to engage with various cultural perspectives.
Basically, the students create a quilt square about an aspect that relates to their family including what they celebrate, what is important to them, their values and symbols that represent them. What a great way to engage students with other cultures. #UoNTeach
It can be difficult to teach children about what it means to be a global citizen and sometimes all it takes is a simple illustration for children to have a light bulb moment and realise what it truly means to engage with the global community. #UoNTeach
Service learning is a teaching method that involves students performing community service in order to learn knowledge and skills connected to curricular objects (Fair & Delaplane, 2015). What a great way for students to engage with their local community! #UoNTeach
‘Book Bot’ is a pilot program that uses technology to increase children’s love for reading. It is a robot that questions children about their interests and reading skills. Is this the future for engaging children in reading? It is interesting! #UoNTeach

Such a great book to read in the classroom! It celebrates how children all over the world are different yet similar and how this brings us together. It is such a beautiful book for illustrating to children about the importance of inclusion. Have a read! #diversity#UoNTeach
