I feel like Americans always think in excess. The tension of the World Cup comes from the fact that it is every four years and cycles through generations of players. It’s something to wait for and build up to.
Mind you our favorite sport over here regularly calls back the sickest plays you’ve ever seen because a DB gave someone a high five too vigorously roughly four city blocks away from the play
Soccer refs: We 3D-scanned all 1,248 players before the tournament, track every limb 50 times a second, and can confirm you are offside by a toenail. No goal.
Soccer refs: Added time? I'm thinking... seven minutes. Actually, ten. Could be twelve. Hard to say really.
Here are my simple thoughts on Jaylen Brown:
I'm a big believer in stats/analytics, but if your model tells you that Jaylen Brown is the 7th best player on a team (and it's not Team USA), then you have a problem with your model.
Brown isn't a perfect player, but we all know he's an awesome one.
