SE7EN is a film I’ve rewatched more times than I can count, but seeing it remastered in a sold-out IMAX theater last night was the first time I truly experienced it.

Yes, it’s dark, cold, and often horrifying, but feeling a sold out cinema interact with it made me realize how much heart and humanity lies beneath the grimy aesthetic. The end has never worked 100% for me until now. It’s perfect.

Fincher recently said that a movie can change depending on how you see it, and I couldn’t agree more. It’s not just about the technical presentation (which is the best 4K remaster I’ve seen yet), but it’s who you’re with, who you are in the moment, and even just your mood.

We need more re-releases - not just for new generations to experience classics on the big screen, but so we can revisit them as we grow. Art endures, but its power transforms when shared with a room full of strangers. Cinema was made to be experienced together.
