This is just coming in: there appears to be a major fire on the upper floors of one of the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.
Reports claim that a small plane, either a Cessna or a private jet, accidentally flew into the tower around the 80th floor, due to either an air traffic control communications error or a malfunction on the aircraft.
The dozens of victims are in our thoughts. We will continue to monitor rescue and repair surrounding this alarming accident.
During a shooting of NBC’s Today in Lower Manhattan, Mr. Peanut makes a surprise appearance!
How fun - now the mascot will have the delightful experience of walking around Lower Manhattan and seeing the day through the eyeholes of his Mr. Peanut costume.
Four generators, rerouted wiring and limited power - an inside look at how collaboration between Florida State, SMU, the ACC, electricians, facilities experts, city officials and utility reps allowed some “old school football” to be played. https://t.co/gA4KUkXpXi
@JasonABowman@MarcACaputo@chucktodd@PeterSchorschFL They used to generate power through that smokestack. Now they continue to use that old smokestack to generate AC instead. That system is part of a larger system called the FSU Central Utility Plant. A CUP is a centralized heating or AC system. https://t.co/3KvBRWCkRl
@MarcACaputo@chucktodd@PeterSchorschFL They don't generate their own power. They used to burn coal out of their boiler stack, which is still in operation providing AC to the campus today. It's visible from many places on the west side of campus. still functional as FSU's Central Utility Plant
Based on initial phone calls this appears to be an issue on the stadium end rather than the @CityofTLH Grid.
Both FSU and Utility personnel are on the ground. While an inconvenience, a reminder to thank a neighbor for working this Labor Day.
So sorry to all of the FSU fans who came expecting an amazing game out there today met with delays. The city has to work better with FSU and our demand customers to prevent this.
