Lies from Hamas water carriers as Israelis begin to commemorate their dead. Hasan essentially argues that unless the West reframes the discussion to be about potential friendly fire rather than the mass majority of death caused by Hamas, they don't care about the dead.

Aside from the fact that any dead at the strategic level are caused by the invasion and conduct of Hamas and its ilk, at the tactical level the pro-terrorist outlet Zeteo is simply lying by framing the Hannibal Directive as a command to directly kill Israelis. The directive is a removal of safeties that come with the use of live fire, as Americans may be familiar with danger close mortar or artillery strikes. Fire is directed at hostiles, not at hostages, but the safety protocols are essentially removed. You are shooting at risk to friendlies, not at friendlies. This is controversial, but not the distortion Hasan lays out when he describes it as allowing "Israeli soldiers to fire on their own troops – and civilians."

The fact is that reporting exploring the issues only ever puts the figures of those killed in friendly fire --knowing that there were friendlies present or not -- at over an estimated dozen or so. This would only ever be a small fraction of the day's casualties. Any serious journalist would include these details in their report, but Hasan is not an honest interlocuter, and is "just asking questions" to shift blame from the perpetrators onto the defenders.

Hasan doesn't care about Israeli dead any more than he cares about the truth. How many of the Gazan dead during the October 7 war were caused by Gazan terrorists? Are they truly the only military force in history that has never accidentally misfired? Qassam rockets are notoriously temperamental -- How many fell in Gaza and killed civilians there? Hasan is aware of the Al Ahli hospital incident, caused by a PIJ rocket, but he has acted as if it is a debated cause -- what is he trying to hide, and why? It is easy to ask questions in order to lead an audience along a narrative without having to have done the research and having to have made the argument and staked an actual claim.

Under the guise of carrying, he's pushing forward lazy work to manipulate audiences. If Hasan "gave a damn" he wouldn't be trying to reframe October 7 as a murder/suicide as Israelis are mourning their dead.

A lot of people should lose their careers over their ridiculous statistical modelling predicting hundreds of thousands of deaths in outlets like the Lancet and joke NGOs like AOAV. They won’t. They’ll get a free pass. Their blood libel work is done.
