My dad‘s been working abroad ever since I was a kid & I only see him twice a year. Today I’m watching him at the pool in our condo teaching random kids how to swim. He may have not been physically present for most of my life but my heart surely is full seeing him there for others
One of my med school profs gave me advice that I use every single day:
If you live life 100% committed, there won't be room for emergencies. Instead, live at 70%, so that you have room to breathe, play, and grieve.
Such an important reminder in medicine and beyond.
