"It is true that few unscientific people have this particular type of religious experience. Our poets do not write about it; our artists do not try to portray this remarkable thing. I don’t know why. Is no one inspired by our present picture of the universe? This value of science remains unsung by singers: you are reduced to hearing not a song or poem, but an evening lecture about it. This is not yet a scientific age." - Richard Feynman
One of the greatest minds of the 20th century - he was also stubborn, playful, intensely curious and highly original in practically everything he did.
Feynman's voice echoes raw and direct through these pages. Extremely readable and enjoyable book!
10 lessons from the book:
@romanhelmetguy it's better for the U.S. to have China relying on Nvidia ships than for it to make its own ( China knows this that's why they initially resisted allowing Nvidia chips back into their market ).
@Babygravy9 Before wanting Independance the Algerians wanted equality under the law, to not be considered second-class citizens in their own land, but the french government and the european population refused them that dignity... that's why most of the europeans fled.
We have boarded the papal plane to Annaba, Algeria! ✈️ 🇻🇦
I cannot wait for this pilgrimage with Pope Leo XIV today to the place where St. Augustine served as a bishop and died in A.D. 430 as Vandals besieged the ancient city.
@Italian347@JenFarkas2 no he didn't ( yet ), the first part of his trip is in the capital Algiers, where he is visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Africa.
today he'll visit the Basilica of Saint Augustine.
No, those are two distinct mosques, the one you are talking about is Ketchaoua Mosque, and the one the Pope is in is the Great Mosque of Algiers ( completely modern, built from the ground up and finished in 2019 ).
Communion between Christians and Muslims takes shape under the mantle of Our Lady of Africa. Here, in #Algeria, the maternal love of Lalla Meryem gathers everyone as children, within our rich diversity, in our shared aspiration for dignity, love, justice, and peace. In a world where division and wars sow pain and death, living in unity and peace is a compelling sign. #ApostolicJourney
