Iran's exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi was met with fanfare from 250,000 demonstrators at a Munich rally on Saturday as part of a global solidarity movement.

In a speech at the event, he said an Iran liberated from the Islamic Republic would mean a new friendship with the free world.

Pahlavi, speaking to the crowd following an appearance at the Munich Security Conference, thanked the solidarity shown by people around the world.

"We are fighting for justice, we are fighting for human rights, we are fighting for liberty, we are fighting to put an end to all forms of discrimination," Pahlavi told the crowd

‼️ The attacker who drove into a crowd in #Magdeburg was born in Saudi Arabia

According to the German newspaper Welt, citing intelligence services, the perpetrator is 50 years old. Prior to the attack, he rented a car, which he then used to drive into the market at the Old Town Square.

❗️ Police found luggage on the passenger seat, which is currently being examined by bomb disposal experts.

AFP reports that up to 80 people were injured in the attack, while Bild states that 11 have died. Official figures have not yet been released.
