Who actually lost?
The genuine SC communities. The genuine original beneficiaries of reservation.
The Madiga Dandora movement, led by Manda Krishna Madiga, spent 30 years fighting for sub-classification of SC reservations.
A large portion of the OBCs in coastal AP had converted to Christianity, used Church influence to push their communities into SC, while continuing to draw SC benefits using Hindu certificates.
They had missionary education, SC benefits via GO 341, OBC benefits via BC-C, and Minority Finance Corporation access. The Madigas who remained Hindu received almost nothing from the SC quota.
