Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, has arrived in Addis Ababa this morning for an official visit to Ethiopia.

Upon his arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, he was warmly received by State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye.

During his visit, Deputy Prime Minister Sihasak is scheduled to hold talks with senior Ethiopian government officials on ways to further strengthen the longstanding relations between Ethiopia and Thailand and advance political, diplomatic, and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Turning Our Commitment to Solidarity into Action!
As part of our 2018 E.C. Summer Volunteer Service, we continue to turn our commitment to Ethiopian solidarity into meaningful action.

Today, August 12, 2026, in the Afar Region, we signed an agreement with the Afar National Regional Government to ensure the timely and quality completion of 10 homes for vulnerable members of our community and one kindergarten school, being undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its affiliated institutions.

Upon completion, these projects will leave a lasting impact—improving the living conditions of our fellow citizens, creating better opportunities for our children, and turning hope into tangible outcomes.

More importantly, this initiative demonstrates how we can transform the Ethiopian values of solidarity, cooperation, and mutual support into meaningful and lasting results.

We work together, we build together, we turn hope into reality.

The Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Seychelles, Central African Republic, the Federal Republic of Somalia, and the Republic of Benin, Barry Faure, Sylvie Baïpo-Temon, Abdisalam Abdi Ali and Corinne Amori Brunet, respectively, arrived in Addis Ababa this evening to participate in the 49th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union.

Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, the Ministers were warmly received by the Chief of State Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Melaku Bedada.

The 49th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union will be held from July 28-29, 2026 under the theme “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.”

State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hadera Abera, today bid farewell to the outgoing Ambassador of India to Ethiopia, Anil Kumar Rai, commending his dedicated service and valuable contribution to strengthening Ethio-India relations.

Ambassador Hadera highlighted key milestones achieved during Ambassador Rai’s tenure, including the elevation of Ethio- India relations to a Strategic Partnership following the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Ethiopia, expanded cooperation in digital transformation, and India’s support for Ethiopia’s WTO accession and BRICS integration.

The State Minister reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to further deepening the historic bonds of friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.
